I spent years wandering through fantasy worlds in games, shows, and movies; books had somehow fallen off my radar. Then The Witcher 3 pulled me in for hundreds of hours, and I realized there was an entire book series waiting for me. Picking up those novels reignited something I hadn’t felt since childhood.
Since then, I’ve tackled Wheel of Time, Malazan, the Cosmere, and dozens of other series. Book Nook Cook is what I wish existed when I was trying to find my way back.
What Book Nook Cook Is About
Book Nook Cook exists to bridge the gap between screens and pages. If you loved a game, show, or movie and want to find books with that same feeling, this is the place. If you’re staring at a massive fantasy series wondering where to even start, I’ve got you.
You’ll find:
- Reading guides for complex series (because jumping into Malazan blind is rough)
- “Books like X” recommendations based on what you already love
- Practical help for reading slumps, series overwhelm, and the “what now?” feeling after finishing something great
Who’s Behind Book Nook Cook
I’m Jesse, or “the Cook” (who cooks book nooks?). I read fantasy almost exclusively, and I’ve done the work on the intimidating stuff: all ten Malazan books, all fourteen Wheel of Time books, most of the Cosmere. When I recommend something on Book Nook Cook, I’ve actually read it.
No gatekeeping here. Whether you’ve read hundreds of fantasy novels or you’re picking up your first one after years away, Book Nook Cook is for you.
